There are many viruses,
reportedly mass distributed by email. The most recent ones have been MyDoom
and Netsky (plus variants). The aliases the virus uses and the text entered
in the message subject fields varies and therefore the virus is difficult to
identify. We can only recommend that customers refrain from opening
attachments that arrive from an unfamiliar source and end with one of the
following suffixes:
.pif .scr .exe .cmd .bat .zip
Viruses can significantly impact upon the efficiency of your PC and Internet
usage and due to their very nature, have proved difficult to combat.
To avoid the potential risk of a virus attacking your PC, we recommend
utilising anti-virus software should you not already be doing so. This will
also provide ongoing reassurance, as these programmes significantly improve
the likelihood of you automatically identifying and eradicating new viruses
in the future. To better protect your PC against viruses, anti virus
software should be updated regularly - ideally on a weekly basis.
If you already have Symantec or McAfee anti-virus software, please visit the
relevant link below for information and advice on this particular virus:

The next links take you to websites where anti virus software can be
downloaded free of charge. We cannot, however, be held responsible in the
highly unlikely event of any such third party software adversely affecting
your PC.

By following these recommendations, you should be able to rid your PC of
viruses and just as importantly, safeguard your system against becoming
reinfected.
We hope very much that you have found this advice beneficial. We can't
unfortunately prevent the creation and deployment of viruses across the web,
but moving forward, we will continue to monitor this area very closely and
provide whatever advice and assistance we feel will benefit our customers.
